Departmental Tourist Board in the Herault

The "CDT" prepares and implements for the General Council the tourist development policy of the Hérault.
It organizes, animates and coordinates the plans and the initiatives for tourism and the leisure domain in the Hérault department:

  • analyses the tourist activity and markets evolution
  • supports the projects for equipment amenities and local development with analysis, advices and training missions in association with the authority and the project bearers.
  • plays a great part in the development of promotion, press and marketing actions in coordination with the professionals and the partners in the the Hérault department
  • coordinates within the context of its actions the partners of Hérault for the tourist, institutional and professional development
  • intervenes in transactions with the Regional Tourist Board in the Languedoc Rousillon

Regional Tourist Board in the Languedoc-Roussillon Region

Regional Tourist Boards (CRT) are commissioned to promote the French regions in France and abroad.
In cooperation with the participants of the local tourism, the "CRT" :

  • analyses the marketing data : analysis of concurrence, tourist frequentation, customers' analysis, purchasing behaviour
  • elaborates an outline for marketing actions in consultation with the partners : departmental tourist offices, local tourist offices, professional groups
  • advises the professionals in their actions and helps the project initiators
  • manages data bases (tour operators, etc.) for the professionals
  • brings promotion and press actions into operation : professional workshops, tour operator receptions, retailer eductours, national and international journalist's receptions, tourist exhitibtions, advertising, direct marketing and web marketing campaigns.

FNOTSI - National Federation of the Tourist Offices

The "FNOTSI" federates the 3600 Tourist Offices in France and regroups them into regional or departmental federations.
The Tourist Offices are characterized by a classification with stars (from 1 to 4 stars), according to the extent and the performance level of the services for customers and professionals.
The Prefecture awards this classification after a decision of the CDAT (Local Commission for Tourist action).
The classification is attributed for a limited time and is renewable every 5 years.
The Tourist Office of Cap d'Agde holds 4 stars from 2006 to 2010. It is one of the 70 Tourist Offices in France of this category.
Moreover, it obtained the following trademarks "NF Service" according to the AFAQ-AFNOR Norm and "Qualité Tourisme", the national trademark of the Government  Ministry of Tourism.

Maison de la France

Placed under the authority of the Government Ministry delegated to Tourism,  "Maison de la France" is a public interest group created in 1987.
It is in charge of the promotion of the destination France on the territory and abroad, with, besides Paris, 33 offices established in 28 countries.

  • Maison de la France has more than 1300 members divided between private interests of tourism (hotels - restaurants - travel agencies - receptive agencies - carriers), and institutional ones (CRT, CDT, Tourist Offices of which the Tourist Office of Cap d'Agde which was one of the founder members in 1987).
  • Maison de la France" develops the diversity of French tourist possibilities. For a better guarantee of the evolutions of consumer and international demand, 4 departments coordinate the activity of 21 clubs and branches and for the littoral, the Tourist Office of Cap d'Agde is a member of the "Club Littoral" which includes the 40 most important French seaside resorts.
  • The Marketing strategy 2005 - 2010 of "Maison de la France" was elaborated in close cooperation with the whole French and foreign tourism actors. This strategy aims at reinforcing the French destination appeal: great stakes of world tourism, effects on the organization of the activity and advantages to be gained for France.

Missions of "Maison de la France": reception, information, promotion and commercialization.

Reception and information:

  • 260 000 visitors informed each year in all the offices of "Maison de la France" abroad
  • Diffusion of booklets and information on France and its products
  • An Internet site www.franceguide.com

Promotion and commercialization:

  •  quantitative and qualitative analyses on demand and marketing
  • promotion campaigns on the French and foreign markets
  • a National Reservation Server on www.franceguide.com
  • promotion: press and public relation operations

ODIT France

Observation, development and Tourist Engineering (ODIT)
ODIT France is a public interest group within the jurisdiction of the Government Ministry of Tourism.
Through consulting and engineering, ODIT France helps public and private tourist partners to imagine, adapt and develop tourist supplies so that they can remain competitive and in accordance with the demand.
ODIT France missions are a result of the adaptation and the renewal of the tourist French suppliers according to tomorrow's national and international demand :

  • gives its support to the government and to the public and private partners concerning the general tourist economy, specially by observation
  • lists and analyses the customers' expectations and the activities available
  • is instrumental in the harmonious development of the regions
  • increases the availabilities to make them more competitive
  • intensifies the economic efficiency of the development process
  • develops the export of the French tourist engineering
