With more than 120 independent wine cellars and 6 cooperative wine cellars, the Hérault Mediterranean region produces more than 9 million bottles per year. At 290,000 hectares, the Languedoc Roussillon region is the largest wine production area in the world. This offers a wealth of opportunities for discovering pays d’Oc wines and local gastronomic specialities:

•” Vineyard walks” mornings, circuits accessible to all, from April to October and every week from July to September.

• Afternoon visits to a wine cooperative followed by wine tasting sessions.

• The traditional festival of the new wine, held every year in October.

Lots for a memorable weekend tasting the most famous wines of the pays d'Oc: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscat, Syrah… Marrying the wines with the gastronomic specialities of the Hérault Mediterranean region will delight your palette. Vinocap: the unmissable event devoted to the wines and produce of the Hérault

In 2012, Cap d'Agde will play host to the 3nd Vinocap festival, with an entire programme devoted to the local produce of the Hérault region: introductions to wine tasting with a sommelier, an organic market, a fashion parade by the agglomeration’s Centre for the Artistic Professions, tasting and sale of local produce (wine and shellfish producers, beekeepers and olive growers...).  Take a moment to subscribe to our newsletter so you won't miss this event.
 

Vinipolis: another way to find out about wine

Situated in Florensac, Vinipolis is a centre which combines a high tech wine cellar where interactive computer terminals reveal the secrets of the vineyard, with an aging cellar and a bistro. So visitors can learn about grape varieties, their characteristics and their production methods in a fun way. Innovative services such as a café-vigneron, cookery courses and tastings are introduced and led by the staff...
