La Tamarissière is situated at the mouth of the River Hérault on the right bank.
It is a small village, in a peaceful location between the beach and the river, in the shade of a two hundred-year-old pine forest.
It owes its name to a plantation of tamarisk and pines in the 18th century, during work to prevent the bed and mouth of the Hérault from silting up.
Enjoy its quiet charm with a walk along the beach, in the pine forest or on the quaysides and jetty.
In season, a ferry service provides a direct link with the Le Grau d'Agde on the other bank of the River Hérault.
