11 organised bathing zones

These zones are monitored by lifeguards.
When the flag flies over the rescue post the surveillance is active. The teams are present from 11.10 a.m. tot 6.30 p.m. In case of accident they must be contacted at once or, failing this, alert the fire brigade by dialling 112 or 18.

For the sake of everybody's safety and children's especially, certain basic rules should be followed.

For example :

  • don't rush into the sea after a long time in the sun, but enter the water gradually

  • keep an eye on children while they are in the water, and help them to remember landmarks so they can locate the position of the persons accompanying them on the beach. Some beaches are equipped with visual landmarks, put there to prevent children from getting lost : totem poles (boat, ball, fish...) are regularly placed all along these beaches.

  • be attentive to signals : colour of the flag hoisted above the rescue post, marker buoys delimiting zones reserved for bathing and zones reserved for water crafts.
